The lost world....

This is age of information,globalization,some-x-sisation,etc,etc.Well,atleast thats what our politicians, corporate leaders and some selfstyled-press of the urbane will want us to beleive. How far they are true is,as a matter of fact, fodder for another really really big blog.Im not goin into that stuff, nor am i interested in those unreal hypes. But what interests me is the quantum of change thats occuring in our lives, owing to the ever increasing pace of our days.

Let the winds of change,Mahatma gandhi once commented, come into our minds from all directions. But he also cautioned against getting swept away by the same.Unfortunately,it seems he was right,as always. Our insane preoccupation with the pressures of day to day life sadly, has destroyed some important tenets that are the basic ingredients of happiness in life. And as usual as ever,we have gleefully accepted this calamity as a normal consequence of our so-called elevated standards of living.

As an example, take the case of friendship. Many of us have forgotten what it feels like,to be among our friends.(A word of caution here, dont mistake the word friends for the acquaintances that we make, owing to physical proximity). And we dont bother much either. Why would we?Time spent on friends, never earns us anything monetarily or otherwise. And anything which has no monetary value, never means anything for us.And so,we live our life in a self imposed exile, caging ourself with mounds of gold, and searching in vain for that eternal peace and happiness.I would like to scream 'Its friendship, stupid' to all those gold caged parrots.Rather than going behind gold, take good care of your friends, for they are worth their weight in gold.Nothing in this world can equal the bliss that friendship gives. And nothing can hurt more either, when you come to know that your friend is no longer a friend....
